Picture this: You're in the Joliet/Crest Hill area (Wait, I am sincerely sorry for forcing you to imagine that, but bare with me) and you're looking for a bar to throw back some cheap beers with good people. Ok ok, so the juke box is usually taken over by someone with bad tribal tattoos and a taste for Nickelback, but there are ways around this. They have one of these new internet jukeboxes, and for a $1 extra you can have your songs skip the rubbish and move along to something pleasing to your ears (unless you're one of those Nickelback lovers). Are you hungry? They have pizza. And popcorn! And if Kristie is there you're in for a surprise treat! Good grief, I hope it's her brat stew. Kristie's brat stew is delectable! Looking to do something besides just saddling up at the bar? There are several boards for darts, a pool table, and in the summer there's a patio to play bags (Watch out for The Lake and don't step on the S.S. Gusto if it has just rained). Need to smoke but it's too cold to go outside? No worries! The back patio gets insulated in the winter and equipped with space heaters! Be friendly with the bartenders and you just might find yourself lucky enough to get one of those old timey wooden coins that you can trade in for a free drink!

If you like dive bars, this is the place to be. This place is truly disgusting. Upon walking in, it reeks of urine. There are cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, and there's a jar full of free condoms. No co2 in their dispensers, so anything requiring carbonation will be flat. A real neighborhood beer and shot lets-get-drunk drunk bar. It gots some potential, though. And I hear the food is good....

This is a old style neighborhood shot and Beer bar. Nothing, and I mean nothing, fancy. But good beer specials and great food. Not sure where they get it, but cooked on sight, must try the gusto burger. Even has an egg on it. Be nice to the bar tenders they will make you feel right at home as if you come in every day. Like Cheers but not as newly decorated. I think It was decorated in the 60's or 70's. Love this place.

Don't let the exterior of the building fool you; Gustos isn't your typical neighborhood bar, they also serve up gourmet food. I'm not talking about your typical greasy, deep fried frozen crap, I'm talking homemade, made-to-order burgers, sides and appetizers to die for. Definitely try the pot roast nachos or the "Gusto" burger (topped with bacon, cheese and a fried egg on a pretzel bun). They recently opened for breakfast as well. Anyone who is coming off working 3rd shift can now take advantage of a full menu and bar starting at 6am. I know that good food is hard to find at that hour and Denny's and the like get boring after a while. Try something at Gustos and you won't be disappointed. Aside from the grill, Gustos is your neighborhood bar that hosts live bands, Karaoke, Dart leagues and tournaments. Drinks are reasonably priced and the staff is friendly. What it lacks in ambience, it makes up for in everything else. Come in often enough and everyone will know your name, just like Cheers. It really does have that type of feel.

Thursday Night Karaoke with DJ Cory James Rocks! They serve GREAT tasty homemade burgers along with a full menu of goodies. Bartenders are fast and friendly...and not sore on the eyes either!
